The young collie lied on her back, the sheep grazing around her. She couldn't but to notice there was absolutely nothing to do. She wouldn't be taking in the sheep for hours, and the sun was hot, even as the middle of fall rolled on. The grass was fresh and springy from the recent rains and the air was warm and breezy. It was relaxing, but the border collie adolescence wanted to play, or do something actually, not just lay there like a dead dog.
Getting to her paws, she began moving among the sheep. They didn't look up to see her or say anything, not even the young ones. Their thick wholly coats made them hot and the air was even warmer among them then outside of the flock. She noticed this when the air was actually quite chilly when she reached the end. Shaking her head as if her ears were filled with water, she turned around and started barking. Come on, move it! You guys will over heat if you don't! Bandit barked, her voice ringing through the air and then being picked up by a gust of wind.
Soon, she had the flock moving and when they all stopped, she began spreading them apart a little bit. Move or you'll die of heat! Terror filled their eyes as they heard the collie speak the words, and they began whispering nervously. When she ordered them to move, they all stared at her. She lunged and barked, and after the heat got bad again, they moved apart. Panting, she layed down, satisfied. There, better, she said, panting hard. Laying her head down, she allowed her eyes to close half way, but didn't sleep.
