[Private: Crimson's Mo only, please.]
...799...800! Everyone's here.
The young collie pup jumped off the fence post. Shaking herself, she said aloud, I thought I'd never be done counting! I thought Mo was supposed to do that. He IS the guardian of them. Shaking her fur and shrugging it off, she bolted toward the empty fields, endlessly rolling across the ground.
Coming to a stop, the young Bandit stood panting, but all her strength and energy still remained, as it was supposed to in her border collie genes. Taking in one last gulp to steady her breathing, she looked up just in time to see the sun slide beneath the mountains. Sitting down, she watched the colors of the sky fade to purples and blues, until darkness took over.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The collie bitch rolled her eyes at the young collie pup and walked toward the barn. Suddenly, the scent of Mo entered her nose, and instead of going to greet him, she veered suddenly off to the left, to go on the opposite side of the endless fields then Bandit to wait for the moon.
Her heart was aching in her chest. She really did love Mo, at least until he broke her heart by showing her he was just a stupid dog who only wanted to mate her. Of course, she wasn't ready, but he tried, and he failed, at both love and her.
By the time she was settled down in a comfortable grass, with a couple quarter horses grazing just inches from her tail, the moon was out. It seemed to be far away, and this made Miss' heart sink farther into her chest. She wanted to cry out into the still night air, but she kept quiet, and kept watching.
